Happy Purple Friday! Think the Ravens can exorcise their demons and beat Indy on Saturday? Let’s hope so!
To get excited for the game, I wanted to do a post on the Ravens. However, because this a food blog, I have to connect the two – Ravens and eating.
So here we are, talking about what the Ravens eat. You’ll probably be shocked to hear this, but the media is too focused on the game to take a break and ask the players about food. But I was able to find a few brief bits of info about the Ravens food habits, past and present:
- Ray Lewis used to eat a lot of butter pecan ice cream, a pint at a time before 2006 (Q&A with Ray Lewis, City Paper, June 7, 2006).
- Ed Reed eats footballs and other players (Ed Reed on Complex.com).
- When he was getting ready for the NFL, Ray Rice ate and drank clean – grilled chicken, fish, salads, and water (Ray Rice in The Star Ledger, February 15, 2008).
- Joe Flacco’s favorite pre-game meal is pancakes and bacon, and he could be persuaded to try exotic foods (Q&A with Joe Flacco in The Baltimore Sun on December 23,2009).
- Kicker Billy Cundiff likes gourmet burgers so much that he would pay $8 to $10 for one (Q&A with Billy Cundiff, December 2, 2009).
I hope they eat whatever gets them ready to play on Saturday. Move those chains; move those chains; move those chains!

@Jessie and Nikki: Thanks! It would be great if they could pull out a win!
